Movement Studio

Beginning Aerial Dance on Trapeze with Charly McCreary.

Cost: $80.00 

In this session, students will continue to explore the low-flying dance trapeze at a beginning level. Utilizing technical vocabulary learned in class, improvisational exercises, choreography and conditioning, students will grow stronger and more confident in the air and on the ground. Guest instructors will occasionally visit class to offer new approaches to what students are learning. 
 
You must have taken at least one 2-week session of aerial dance with Charly or had previous aerial instruction elsewhere before taking this class. This class is suitable for those in good physical condition with no current injuries. A basic level of fitness and hand/arm strength is strongly recommended. If you have any questions about your eligibility for this class, or for details on how to register, please contact charly@cabiri.org to discuss before registering. Limit 12 students.
 
To register and hold your space in either of these classes, please send a check payable to The Anunnaki Project to P.O. Box 21186 Seattle, WA  98111. Be sure to indicate for which class level you are enrolling with your payment. I will send a confirmation when your payment is received. If you need to pay in installments, please contact the instructor to make arrangements. If you wish to take both the beginner and intermediate classes, the cost is $150.
 
 

Charly McCreary, a founding member of Seattle's Cabiri performance troupe, has a background in ballet, yoga, circus arts and physical theatre. She has been dancing in the air since 2001 and performs regularly at The Pink Door restaurant and cabaret lounge in downtown Seattle. As a teacher, Charly believes in using innovative, challenging, fun activities to build strength and self-confidence.

Intermediate Aerial Dance on Trapeze with Charly McCreary.

Cost: $80.00 

In this session, students with more trapeze experience will learn more advanced vocabulary, develop intermediate/advanced technique, create choreography, work with character and story, and gain proficiency with advanced improvisational exercises.Guest instructors will occasionally visit class to offer new approaches to what students are learning. 
 
To enroll for the intermediate class, you must have mastery of basic aerial skills including:
- 3 basic trapeze mounts
- aerial vocabulary taught in Charly's beginner sessions
- improvisational work on the ground and in the air

You must also be able to do at least 2 pull ups and have moderate overall strength and stamina before enrolling in this class. If you have any questions about your eligibility, please contact charly@cabiri.org to discuss before registering. Limit 12 students.
