One Accord Karate teaches Hayashi-Ha Shito-Ryu Karate. Karate training helps in developing self-awareness, and to develop both physical and emotional control. The skills and attitudes you acquire will help you in all facets of life. Karate training is more of a competition with oneself and students learn focus, confidence, and self-control. The environment is ideal for those who love physical activity but shy away from the pressures often associated with team sports. Our Break Tots class is a modified version of the youth class. Tiny dancers are introduced to an upbeat and energetic exploration of breakdance movements, dance concepts, and hip hop grooves in a safe and encouraging environment!
What to expect: Taught by Anna Nagy, students learn basic movements of breakdance, an upbeat and physically demanding dance style that originated in New York City in the early 70’s and has evolved and expanded around the world. As they develop musicality and body awareness, students explore how to combine the fundamental elements of breakdance (toprock, footwork, freezes and intro power moves) into their own freestyle dance. The skills, exercises and routines learned together are designed to inspire, challenge and help students develop confidence in self-expression.
Belly Dancers are supple, feminine, earthly, mysterious, playful and strong.

What to expect: Taught by Ciara McCormack, our instruction celebrates how ballet engages the body and mind. Dancers are invited to explore the precise yet graceful technique of ballet in a nurturing environment. We seek to guide students toward connecting ballet principles to other dance forms and to their everyday lives. Each class incorporates practice at the barre, centre and across the floor with the hope of cultivating the poise, musicality, and strength that ballet can nurture. Most importantly, students learn the fundamentals of this elegant dance form, while expressing their own artistry.
What to wear: Hair securely pulled back from face and off of neck, ballet shoes, dance clothes such as leotards, tights, leggings, dance skirts or shorts. Boys may wear sweat pants, shorts, or leggings with a t-shirt and ballet shoes.
